Help required for evening series

As it is not possible to roster race officers and recorders for Wednesday evening racing, volunteers are required to carry out these duties. There is a list on the noticeboard in the club giving the dates of the racing. If you are able to help, please put your name on the list.

Lost Property

Please e-mail the office with details of anything you believe has been mislaid at the club. This season, items left in the changing rooms will be put in the scran bins after each weekend. The scran bins will be emptied monthly. Smelly socks and knickers will be binned. Other items will be catalogued and stored for a further 6 weeks. If unclaimed, they will be disposed of. Please don’t regard the changing rooms as your personal season-long storage area. There just isn’t enough space! WYC

Photo Gallery

Hi everyone, If you have any photos you wish to disply on the WYC Facebook page then please forward these to the office. As long as the owners of the photos, as well as those appearing in them, are happy for them to be published then we will add these to the site. Obviously anything offensive or inappropriate will not be displayed. I look forward to seeing your photos. Melanie. WYC

A huge thank you to everyone who turned up on Saturday to help out. It definitely was the Club at its best.......we even ran out of chilli there were so many of you (sorry about that!). It has made such a huge difference and we have saved a lot of money not having to pay for professional help which leaves more to spend on the important things. What a great start to the season! See you all on the water. WYC

Please note from Easter weekend there will be a change to bar opening hours. The bar will re-open Monday to Thursday lunchtimes from 12pm to 2.30pm. Evenings, Fridays and weekends remain unchanged. Food will be available at lunchtimes.

Working Party - 13 March - 10am

The annual Working Party is scheduled to take place this Saturday. This is a great way to start off the season and meet old and new friends. I am trying to co-ordinate this event as there is rather a lot to do this year. We are looking for a "crack team" to paint the gents and ladies changing rooms. If you are interested in being on this team, please would you let me know beforehand as I am meeting with the foreman in charge of painting, decorating and repairing (Roy Hamilton) on Wednesday for a chat - it would be good to know what we are working with to enable us to put together a plan. Free refreshments (soft drinks/coffee) and a bowl of chilli will be available for anyone helping out. I know it's a bit of hard work but the atmosphere is always fantastic. Hope to see you all on Saturday. Many thanks. Melanie (01227 272942).

Club Race Coach - Training Opportunity

Hi everyone. As you may know we are trying to get some refresher/start racing training arranged and have provisionally booked the first date for the 25th of April. Stuart Bishop (RYA Development Officer) has agreed to come over and support us in delivering these sessions. Would anyone be interested in getting involved in the coaching side? The RYA agreed to help train a group of people to become Club Race Coaches with a view to running our own training sessions in the future. Anyone interested would be given appropriate training including Powerboat 2 and First Aid certification. Please let me know if you are interested. Tom Baily (

There are a number of items being stored in the rafters which have not been paid for. Please remove this equipment if it belongs to you or it will be removed at the forthcoming working party on 13 March. It will then disposed of in accordance with the RYA disposal of boats procedure. WYC
