Adult development training sessions
Posted: Tuesday, 02 February, 2010
Hi everyone, We have pencilled in some training dates into the new programme for the new season. The idea is to encourage people on to the water and ideally join in club racing. The format will hopefully be as follows (i) 25th April – RYA Improver training followed by (ii) 2nd May – RYA Start Racing. This will be replicated in the summer on the following dates: (i) 4th July - RYA Improver training followed by (ii) 18th July - RYA Start Racing. None of these dates have been confirmed by the RYA as yet. Cost per training session should be £10-15 and you will need access to a Laser. If you are interested in joining in please register your interest by emailing me back ASAP (tom.baily@btinternet.com). Regards Tom Baily (Laser Class Captain)
WYC Boot Fair
Posted: Tuesday, 02 February, 2010
We have a huge pile of unclaimed sailing garments "picked up" around the changing rooms. The plan is to hold a mini boot fair at the working party (funds will be used to purchase a particular item at the Club or the RNLI - we'll decide later). So, if you don't want to re-purchase your own item, I suggest you pop in the Club before 13th March. I also suggest you practice your haggling skills as I drive a very hard bargain. Melanie. PS: all undergarments have been destroyed - sorry!!

Sunday Treats

Get cosy with your favourite tipple and a nice roast potato at the bar - just like the old days (obviously, I am far too young to remember). You can thank volunteer Chef Lowes and his gang for this treat! Don't miss out as I've heard there may be other tasty treats on the menu! Melanie

Masts down - please
Posted: Tuesday, 15 December, 2009
There are still a number of masts standing on the beach. Members are reminded that the boat parking policy states that masts must be lowered during the non-sailing months. If you wish to sail through the winter please let the office know and you will be given dispensation to leave your mast up. If your mast is still up please lower it immediately.

...the Club has organised a christmas treat for you all. We will be celebrating Christmas with fun, carols with the odd party game here and there. If you are interested, please write your names on the beautiful poster (designed by Holly Gostelow) on the notice board by the tea bar. The more the merrier!
New Years Eve
Posted: Thursday, 03 December, 2009
Start as you mean to go on in 2010. The Pepper Army are back to play again by popular request (they received rave reviews last year). Tickets are now available behind the bar at £15 and canapes will be served. Champagne will be available to purchase behind the bar (I guarantee we won't be running out!). We have had a lot of interest in "the party of the decade" so make sure you buy your tickets asap. Donna Hender, Social Secretary
What are your thoughts on further training?

We are running this survey to gauge members' thoughts on further training. We would also like to know if the more accomplished sailors would be interested in becoming Club Racing Coaches/mentors for new members/post Level 2 sailors. If you wish to take part, please click on the link below. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/S6TZ6H9 Many thanks. WYC
