News from the sailing committee

At the sailing committee meeting last night some amendments to the racing schedule were agreed.

With immediate effect the “little” cats such as Dragoon, Dart 15 and Twixie will race in the small cat class, rather than in the general handicap class.  Times will be taken for the small cats (previously they raced boat for boat) and results will be based on handicap. It is hoped that this will encourage more cats to go racing, and these arrangements will be reviewed at the end of the Spring Series.

The Fowley Island Race on 10 May will be an “all in” handicap race.  However to ease crowding on the start line the cats will start 3 minutes ahead of the dinghies. It is hoped to start from the committee boat.

The Evening Series will be an “all in” handicap series (as shown in the programme).  All classes will start together and the results will be based on average lap times.
