Row, Row, Row your boat
Posted: Tuesday, 24 March, 2009
The Herne Bay Amateur Rowing Club (HBARC) invite the members of Whitstable Yacht Club to enter one or more crews of four, to compete in a challenging opportunity to race against other local business/clubs.
Each crew of four can include men and women aged 16 and over who have had no previous rowing experience. HBARC will provide all equipment needed as well as training to teach the basics in the weeks leading up to the day.
The competition will be arranged on a knock out basis with each crew guaranteed at least two races of 500 metres, with prizegiving at the end of the day. HBARC are able to accommmodate 16 crews, this will be done on a first come first served basis and each business/club can enter as many crews as they wish. All entries need to be in by 18 April. Entry is free and family and friends are welcomed as spectators. Club facilities will be available all day and into the evening for the crews, family and friends. If you want to get a crew together, please let me know at the office. Looks like really good fun! Melanie.
