We are pleased to advise that Slotty, our committee boat, has returned from her winter mooring in time to support the Easter Regatta this coming weekend. Many thanks to the team who cleaned and drove her and who maintained the mooring. There will be one race a day for All-in-Handicap and Lasers, with 14.00 starts on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th, a 15.00 start on Sunday 20th and a 10.00 start on Monday 21st April, with one discard if three or more races are sailed. Our plan is to use Slotty on Friday, Sunday and Monday with racing on Saturday 19th to be run from the race hut, so be prepared for a longer sail to the starting area on committee boat race days. The early series has just finished with 7 of the planned races completed – congratulations to Joe Barton who took the All-in-Handicap series and Dave Sansom who won the Lasers.
Over the weekend of 26th and 27th April we will be hosting a Solo training day and the Solo Spring Championships, part of the Solo Super Series. There is no club racing that weekend and the first three rows of Lasers will need to be moved. However, our first Kayak and SUP in Company event is planned for April 27th at 12.00 – contact Kerry Collins for more details on 07857 419473.
The spring series starts on May 3rd, along with the first Wednesday evening series race on May 7th at 18.30. We look forward to improving weather and great racing! See you on the water or at the club soon.
