Young Person’s Memberships

For Child Protection purposes, children aged under 12 must join with a parent or guardian. We also do not recommend that children new to sailing become a member without at least one parent/guardian joining the club, although Young Persons membership is available for competent sailors aged 12 and over. Parents/guardians remain responsible for the safety and actions of their children at all times.

Sailing is a great activity for the whole family, and it’s never too late to learn. We would always recommend an Individual or Family membership (which includes children under 18) to allow all members of the family to get out on the water. However, for a child learning to sail, with parents/guardians who do not want to sail, the cheapest option is Social Individual or Social Family Membership which allows one or both parents full access and use of the club’s non-sailing facilities whilst supporting their child(ren) learning to sail.

Membership Year

The membership year starts on October 1st but we recognise that many new members will join during the year who will receive a discount to reflect that as follows;

  • If joining between 1st April and 30th June total fees reduced by 25%
  • If joining after 1st July total fees reduced by 50%.
  • If joining during September you pay the fees due for the following year (13 months for the price of 12).

Please note: the £25 joining fee is excluded from discounts.
