WYC opens its doors to local artists
Posted: Wednesday, 16 April, 2014
As part of the 2014 Canterbury Festival, WYC plans to join in the local Artist Open Trail by holding an art exhibition over 3 weekends in October in the upstairs rooms at the clubhouse. We are now looking for club members and non-members, from beginners, seasoned amateurs to professional artists, who would like to show off their art. We are seeking at least 10 exhibitors (more the better) and hope to attract a wide selection of different art forms including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, textiles, glass and ceramics.
Artists will be able to sell their work during the show with a small commission going to Yacht Club Funds. Each artist will be asked to pay £20 towards the cost of the event.
With the publicity from the Canterbury Festival we are hoping the WYC show become a very worthwhile event for the public, artists and the club.
So as not to miss the deadline for the Open House brochure we need to provide a list of artists interested in exhibiting before 30th April. Please let us know in the next few days if you would like to take part in this exciting show.
