To all Whitstable Yacht Club Members,
mark your calendars and prepare to be thoroughly entertained because we have something incredible in store for you. The next Music Club Performance is just around the corner, and it’s set to be the highlight of the month!
Date: Saturday, December 2nd, Time: 8pm - till 10:30pm, Venue: Whitstable Yacht Club.
We’ve gathered over 30 talented club members who are ready to take the stage and deliver a musical journey like no other.
From The Commitments to Duran Duran, ELO to B52s, Eagles to Elton John, Michael Jackson, and even a couple of seasonal surprises to get us in the holiday spirit, our handpicked playlist is designed to keep you dancing and singing along all night long!
But that’s not all - the level of musicianship is incredibly high, with band members representing various sailing classes including Tasars, Lasers, Merlins, Cats, and Cadets. It’s a true testament to the diverse talents within our club.
And here’s the best part – this amazing event is absolutely FREE for all club members! So invite your friends, family (non-members must be signed in), and fellow members, and let’s come together for an evening of pure entertainment and celebration. Whether you’re an avid sailor, a music enthusiast, or just looking to have a great time, this performance promises to deliver a night to remember.
See you on December 2nd, ready to dance and sing your heart out!

The 2024 WYC Club Programme is currently being compiled.  If you or anyone you know would like to advertise their business within the programme, please contact Sally for more details:

Public Ramp Warning

Anyone heading down, launching or landing on the public ramp at the Harbour, (between the WYC Club Ramp and the East Quay) please be aware there’s some damage near the bottom with a plank missing from one of the slots. At high and mid tide this is covered and could easily go unseen. Hopefully there won’t be too many people using it as we’re heading into Winter but take caution if you are.
Foreshore Services have been alerted and are arranging necessary action. Thanks to Sam Turner for the warning!

UFFA — Yachting’s Eccentric Genius

UFFA Book CoverA date for your diary: on Friday 19th January (time tbc) the sailing author Malcolm Turner will give a talk at the club about the sailor and boat designer Uffa Fox. Malcolm’s recent book, UFFA — Yachting’s Eccentric Genius, is the first biography of Uffa Fox to appear for fifty years. Malcolm is an entertaining and amusing speaker, and his talks are often sell-out events. His book has created a lot of interest following the popular UF50 celebration which took place in Cowes in 2022. The event is free, and we’ll send out further details nearer the time.
